When should I change my oil?
For most modern street bikes you should change your oil every 4000 miles or every 6 months. However, if you ride hard and push the limits it should be sooner.
For most SXS enthusiasts, we recommend every 50 hours. This may be a bit overkill, but clean oil is important in your SXS. -
Shock tuning tips and tricks.
Setting the sag is crucial for the correct feeling and handling on street and motocross bikes. Sag is the amount the bike will compress from fully extended, with the rider on board. For rebound and compression damping, your bike, SXS and ATV will have adjusters on the forks and shocks, turning in the compression adjuster will stiffen the ride feel, adjusting the rebound settings will control how fast or slow the suspension returns.

Is my battery dead?
Use a multimeter and set it to Volts DC, a good battery should read 14.2 Volts. Any battery below 12 volts will give you poor performance such as slow or hard starting.

My bike/unit will start and run, but runs poorly and wants to stall or quit at idle or when coming to a stop.
It may be time for a carb clean, fresh fuel and filter, spark plugs and tune up, or valve adjustment.

I was introduced to Lokey Powersports from a local shop, 8 Ball, when I needed tires mounted on my RZR. I spoke with Randy on the phone and he was very accommodating getting me in the shop the next day to replace my tires. When I arrived the next day both Randy and his assistant were very helpful in getting me in the shop with the tires and assisted me removing my buggy from the trailer. In discussing my car some questions came up for me about preventative maintenance and Randy provided advice using both examples and valuable suggestions. The suggestions led me to add some other service items to the work needed and again Randy accommodated me asking for just a little more time to perform the work. He completed the work in less than the time he suggested and again they assisted me in loading my car in the trailer. I appreciated their personal approach in helping me, offering suggestions, going the extra mile with loading, and the fun attitude they brought to the conversations. I live in San Clemente and when the time comes, I will travel to have them handle any issues that come up for my Polaris. Thank You again Lokey guys.

Thank you for yet another great experience! These guys were recommended by 8 Ball tires a couple doors down. Ended up bringing both my bikes here - Suzuki V-Strom and Triumph Tiger. I had to come back for a fuel leak and they totally sorted me out while I waited and even gave me a couple freebies. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

Awesome new shop in a convenient location of Escondido. Randy was super friendly & helpful with my motorcycle questions & had a good inventory of supplies that I needed. They looked busy upgrading a side by side, & we’re working on street & dirt bikes. He told me that they plan to have upcoming ride events & promotions. I’ll defiantly be coming back to Lokey Powersports & will recommend this shop to my friends!

6/20/2022 - Called late afternoon on a Friday wanting to get some atv tires mounted. I expected to be told they would get me in a few weeks later. Instead they said bring it in and we'll get you setup so you don't lose the weekend riding. I was totally blown away that they would offer this so late on a Friday. They got my tires mounted and done by 6pm that day. I found my go to place! Locally owned and family business that knows how to do customer service.

1/21/2022 - I was referred to Lokey by the store owner I bought my gear from--All Rider Gear in San Diego. He spoke very highly of him so I trusted it even though its a 45min ride for me from DT San Diego. FIRST IMPRESSION walking in--Randy is super friendly and also the kids working for him, real diligent. Originally came to get Trex frame sliders installed on CBR but I also told him to keep an eye on any other red flags it may have because I bought the motorcycle used 2 months ago (cbr 2016 7.5k miles). He quoted me a solid price/time for labor; (but also he said--hey, we don't like to rush things here, we like to check everything thoroughly). Later that day, maybe 3 hours; frame sliders on, oil changed (it was hella dirty), all bolts tightened, and new chain (and I had already noticed kinks in the chain); and fixed a sticky throttle. Very happy with the price and customer service; would recommend to anyone. Also a tire shop right next door. Motorcycle rode wayyy better/faster with the new chain. Also maybe the biggest testament to their skills was by the bikes serviced in their stable lol.. I was interested in everyone of them and asked if they were for sale

3/26/2019 - After having service done to one of my dirt bikes at Lokey Powersports, I decided to take my sport bike in for a full service. The service both times was outstanding and the price was great. Randy is honest, straight forward and a true master of his trade. He pays attention to all details and and treated my bikes as if they were his own. I've used many shops and dealers in the past and have not experienced better. Why settle for anything but the best? Save yourself some time and hassle and go to Lokey Powersports!

2/20/2019 - I was referred to Lokey Powersports by a friend who also has used them for a number of services on his bike. I just recently bought a used bike that had been sitting for a while and so it wasnt starting/running right. I called in to Lokey and Randy (the owner) spent a solid 15 minutes talking me through his thoughts on what may be causing the problem. Unlike most of the other shops I had called before, Randy's customer service and time spent talking to me as just some guy who called in was second to none. After a quick conversation with him you can tell Randy really knows his stuff and he did a great job with my KLR 650.
